CSV ↔ JSON Converter
Convert quoted CSV to arrays of JSON objects, or JSON arrays to comma, semicolon or tab-separated text locally in your browser.
About this csv ↔ json converter
Convert quoted CSV to JSON object arrays, or JSON arrays to comma-, semicolon- or tab-separated text. Paste text and copy the result locally.
How this tool works
Parses comma-, semicolon- or tab-separated text with quoted fields, doubled quotes and embedded line breaks. CSV to JSON emits string-valued objects. JSON to CSV emits a header and CRLF-separated records from an array of objects; missing or null cells become empty text and nested values become JSON text.
- Choose CSV to JSON, Comma and First row contains column names.
- Paste the example into CSV input; JSON output updates automatically.
- Inspect all columns, then use Copy. Switch to JSON to CSV to convert an object array.
Worked example
Scenario: Choose CSV to JSON, Comma and First row contains column names.
Sample input:
Processing: Parses comma-, semicolon- or tab-separated text with quoted fields, doubled quotes and embedded line breaks. CSV to JSON emits string-valued objects. JSON to CSV emits a header and CRLF-separated records from an array of objects; missing or null cells become empty text and nested values become JSON text.

Limits and verification
Input is limited to 1,000,000 UTF-16 code units; output to 8,388,608. JSON nesting is limited to 100 levels. Duplicate JSON keys, unsafe integers, overflow, underflow and decimal values that would change during serialization are rejected; quote exact values as strings. Header whitespace is trimmed, blank names are generated and collisions receive unique suffixes. Uneven CSV rows are padded. Types and nulls do not round-trip through CSV. Formula-like cell text is preserved without spreadsheet formula neutralization. This page offers text input and copying, without file upload or download. Text must contain valid Unicode; unpaired UTF-16 surrogates are rejected.
Examples demonstrate an expected workflow; they do not prove every input or every branch of an external specification. Check important results with an independent source before using them for money, security, compliance, safety, or irreversible file changes.
Browser processing boundary
Tool input is processed by code running in the browser and is not intentionally sent to a CZOA processing API. The page can still request ordinary site assets, analytics, or advertising when those services are enabled. Browser extensions and managed-device software remain outside this tool's control.

Frequently asked questions
Does CSV ↔ JSON infer true or 42 as Boolean and number values?+
No. With CSV input name, active followed by Ada,true, the JSON output contains "active": "true". Cells are text in this CSV-to-JSON path; apply typing after export if your schema needs it.
Which controls select CSV parsing behavior?+
Choose CSV or JSON mode, then select comma, semicolon, or tab. CSV mode also exposes a header checkbox, which determines whether the first row supplies object field names.
How are quoted commas and quote characters represented?+
The converter parses CSV fields using the selected delimiter and CSV quoting rules, and writes fields containing delimiters, quotes, line breaks, or edge whitespace with CSV quotes. Verify unusual dialect requirements separately.
Does this page upload a spreadsheet or validate a JSON schema?+
It works from pasted text and has no spreadsheet file picker. Conversion does not validate your business schema; page assets and any consent-controlled site services are separate from the entered table text.
